Hackett (Cork): On April 22, 2011, peacefully, at Marymount Hospice, VAL (Shandon Street, formerly of Brandon Crescent and late of Greenmount Rangers), beloved husband of Alice (nee O'Callaghan) and loving father of Tony, Edward and Len, brother of Michael, Teresa (Terry) and the late Patrick. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, grandson James, brother, sister, nephews, nieces, daughter- in-law June, his friends Maurice Caulfield, John Higgins and Liam O'Callaghan, relatives and friends. Reposing at O'Connor Bros. Funeral Home, North Gate Bridge. Removal tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6.30pm to the Cathedral. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary's New Cemetery, Curraghkippane. House private. Family flowers only. Donations, in lieu, to Marymount Hospice.
