Mr. T. Val O’Connor, K.S.S., M.B.I.E., G.R.S.E., F.M.I.A.F.D., M.P.E.A., is the Chairman Emeritus of O’Connor Bros.  Val is third generation Funeral Director and a founding member of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and graduate of the Renouard College, New York City. He is a leader in the funeral service industry and he is credited with introducing the Funeral Home concept into Ireland in 1967. He was awarded the Papal Knighthood of the Equestrian Order of St. Sylvester in 2001 for his Chairmanship of the fund-raising committee for St. Mary and St. Ann’s Cathedral in Cork. Regrettably Val O’Connor Passed away on Aug 7th 2019.

Mr. J. Finbarr O’Connor, M.B.I.E, M.I.A.F.D., M.P.E.A., G.B.M.S., P.A.D.I. (DM), (Val’s son) is the Managing Director, Chairman and C.E.O. of O’Connor Bros.. Finbarr is fourth generation funeral director. He trained in the funeral service industry in Los Angeles, California and Scottsdale, Arizona. He has served as Chairman of the Irish Division of the British Institute of Embalmers 2001-2003 and President of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors 2008-2009. He is also a P.A.D.I.* Divemaster and Master Scuba Diver. *(Professional Association of Diving Instructors).

Laura O’Connor-Humphries (Val’s daughter) is the General Manager and a Director of O’Connor Bros.

Mr.Terence O’Connor is also fourth generation Funeral Director. He joined the company when his company Terence O’Connor Funeral Home, Shandon Street, Cork (founded 1895) merged with O’Connor Bros. Funeral Homes in 2004.

Mr.Declan Hayes is yet another of our Funeral Directors. He has been with the company for 20 years.

Mr.William Gleeson is also a Funeral Director He previously served as a Sergeant with An Garda Siochana in Cork. 

Mrs. Patricia Bogan married into the family business, run by her late father-in-law Frederick Bogan. She has been involved in the funeral business for over 26 years. She is involved in many Church committees, at present serving as a member of The General Synod of the Church of Ireland and is the Secretary of the Friends of St. Finbarre’s Cathedral. 

Mr. Denis J. Goggin one of our longest serving Funeral Directors has recently retired after working with the company for over 40 years. He is a member of the Board of Management of Glen Rovers Hurling and Football Club and former member of the Board of Management of Blackpool Community Association.

 Sheila O’Donoghue  is the Office Manager and has been with the company for over 40 years.

Therese Vaughan is our Accounts Administrator.

Catherine O’Sullivan is our Florist. She previously worked with Woodford Bournes and Academy Florist.

Jennifer Cronin is our receptionist.
